On the opening day of Charleston Beer Week, Low Tide Brewing is throwing a farm party that will will encapsulate the spirit of Johns Island. The center piece for the event will be a goat race featuring “kid” goats from Burden Creek Dairy goat farm. During the event we will have other farm party activities and decorations. The event will be free to attend, pay as you go with prizes and other specials occurring throughout the evening. The party is 5-9 with the races starting at 7. Burden Creek farm will be onsite selling their cheese and milk products as well as hosting a “petting zoo” before and after the race where you can feed the goats for a donation.

Michael Karkut (head chef at GRAZE) will be preparing a 5 course meal that is sure to tantalize any foodie's palette. Vinny Wedderspoon (Sommelier at Accent on Wine) will picking a wine to pair with each course and Caleb Taylor (owner of Homegrown Brewhouse) will be picking a beer to pair with each course. In the end, you get to pick whether beer or wine reigns supreme in this gastronomical challenge. Trust us when we say that you will love this event! Tickets are $65 per person and we have limited seating available.

Decide between a 5k run or shorter 1 mile run (there will be a course for both distances) "Pup Run" with Charleston Beer Runners (at time TBD).

Every participating runner gets one, free, post-run brew. Pups get free doggie treats! $1 per pint sold all day goes to Charleston Animal Society.

Over a dozen local craft breweries will battle it out to become Pour Taproom's first King of the Kegs.

The idea is simple but the battle will be fierce; the first keg to kick is the winner and will be crowned the King of the Kegs. The individual who kicks the winning keg will also share in the spoils of war. 1st through 3rd place will win Pour gift cards. All keg kickers will bring home local brewery swag. Kegs will be tapped at 4:00 and the event will end at 9:00. There will also be delicious Charleston Beer Week food specials and live music.

CFB will be celebrating Charleston Beer Week all week long by encouraging guests to come in dressed in brewery gear (hats, shirts, hoodies, you name it)! Any guests wearing brewery gear will have the opportunity to enter our Beer Week raffle. The winner will be drawn during our “Hop-coming” All-Local Tap Takeover on Friday, September 14. The winner of the raffle will win a bunch of CFB & Beer Week swag and will be crowned our 2018 “Hop-coming” King or Queen. All of our taps will feature selections from breweries right here in our hometown, which can be paired with a few special dishes from our CFB kitchen. Announcing the 2018 Forever Grateful Homebrew Comp. This year the event will be an official Charleston Beer Week Event! Registration is now open. Please submit you entries to Oak Road Brewery c/o Forever Grateful. You can also drop off entries at Yeast - Everything Homebrew, LLC in Mt Pleasant or Beer Engineer Supply in North Charleston.
